Message Rules 

Outlook Express

WARNING: These instructions are for deleting your messages. Completing these instructions will cause any email message to move automatically to the Deleted Items folder in Outlook Express. You need to delete them from that folder to permanently delete them. To view the instructions for moving your messages into a specific folder, click here.

Step 1: Open Microsoft Outlook Express. Go to the Start Menu. Move your mouse over Programs, and in the menu that pops up, left single-click on Outlook Express.


Step 2: Once in Outlook Express,  left single-click on the Tools menu, move your mouse down to Message Rules, and in the menu that pops up, left single-click on Mail.


Step 3: You should now see the following screen.


Step 3(cont): On your screen, underneath 1. Select the Conditions for your rule, check the box next to Where the From line contains people. Underneath 2. Select the Actions for your rule, check the box next to Delete it. Your screen should now look like the screen below. 


 

Step 4: Underneath 3. Rule Description, there should be some blue, underlined text that says contains people. Click on this text. You should now see the following screen.


Step 5: Underneath Type one name at a time and click Add, or select people from the Address Book there will be a text field (to the left of the Add button). Left single-click in that field and type prospects@ppar.com (or whatever name or word you want to filter). Click on the Add button. You should now see the following screen.


Step 6: After completing Step 5 you should left single-click OK. You should now see this screen. 

 

Step 7: Underneath 4. Name of the Rule type Prospects. Click OK. In the next screen that appears, click OK. Now any future mail that is concerning prospects will be forwarded to the Prospects folder.
